Joe Rogan says Disney needs to get 'on Team Johnny Depp'

Podcaster Joe Rogan has blasted "woke" Disney for dropping Johnny Depp from "Pirates of the Caribbean," telling the company it needs to support the actor if it wants its "stock to rise" again.

Rogan said Disney should say “f*** it, we’re on team Johnny Depp” and bring him back for the next installment of the hugely popular movie franchise.

During Spotify’s “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast Tuesday, the host was speaking with band members from The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach, and Patrick Carney.

They were talking about Disney’s “stock prices” being down.

Rogan said Disney could turn things around by putting the 58-year-old actor back at the helm in his swashbuckling role amid Depp’s defamation suit against his ex-wife.

The discussion starts at the 2:56:48 minute mark here.

"I wonder if they’re gonna put him [Depp] back on Pirates of the Caribbean,” Rogan explained.

"If Disney wanted to reclaim all the stock that they’ve lost, all the market share they’ve lost over the last couple of months, I guarantee, you say, ‘F*** it, we’re on Team Johnny Depp.’”

"That would probably pump up their stock market price,” he added.

"Like literally, that would cause their stock to rise.

"If they’re [just] like, ‘You know what? We’re bringing Johnny back, we believe him.’ Hashtag believe most women.”

The host and his guests then suggested that the “solution” was for Disney to cast the stars in a project alongside each other, maybe in a pirate movie.

Despite the podcast host’s suggestions, the “Edward Scissorhands” star made it clear during his recent testimony that he has no interest in returning to the franchise after being let go in 2018, reported Variety.

“The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film? Correct?” Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn said.

Depp replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

The “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” star is suing his ex-wife for $50 million for defamation that he claims hurt his career in Hollywood.

Heard claims Depp’s legal team made false claims about her and is countersuing the actor for $100 million in damages.

The stars tied the knot in 2015.

In 2017, their divorce was finalized, reported Page Six.
