Biden Takes Leisurely Bike Ride at the Beach as World War 3 Looms
Biden faced backlash after retreating to his home in Delaware
Democrat Joe Biden was snapped riding a bike at Gordons Pond State Park in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, just days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a potential “third world war.”
Biden faced backlash after retreating to his home in Delaware as geopolitical tensions remain at an all-time high.
Biden’s bike ride came after Zelenskyy warned of a third world war if peace talks with Russia fail.
Zelenskyy said that “any format” should be used in order to have a possibility of negotiating with Russia, in particular Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I think that we have to use any format, any chance in order to have a possibility of negotiating, possibility of talking to Putin,” Zelenskyy said.
“But if these attempts fail, that would mean that this is a third world war,” Zelenskyy added.
“If there is just one percent chance for us to stop this war.
"I think that we need to take this chance; we need to do that,” he added.
Biden will travel to Brussels, Belgium, this week for the March 24 NATO summit on Russia’s war in Ukraine, the White House recently confirmed.
Biden’s trip comes after three European leaders visited Kyiv last week to support Ukraine amid the Russian invasion, though the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Sunday there are no plans for Biden to stop in the country during his European trip.
Earlier this week, a Chinese Communist Party diplomat warned NATO to stick to its promise not to expand eastward.
As Neon Nettle reported:
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng criticized the far-reaching Western sanctions imposed on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, saying the root cause of the war in Ukraine “lies in the Cold War mentality and power politics.
The Chinese envoy said if NATO’s “enlargement goes further, it would be approaching the ‘outskirts of Moscow’ where a missile could hit the Kremlin within seven or eight minutes.”
“Pushing a major country, especially a nuclear power, to the corner would entail repercussions too dreadful to contemplate,” he said.
He added that NATO should have disintegrated and “been consigned to history alongside the Warsaw Pact.”
