Ted Cruz Rides Shotgun in the 'People's Convoy' of U.S Truckers
Texas senator joins protesters to shot support in 'standing up for freedom'

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has joined the "People's Convoy" of U.S. truckers and rode shotgun in one of their trucks to show his support in "standing up for freedom."
Cruz showed up to the protests on Thursday, which are a U.S. extension of the Canadian "Freedom Convoy."
He said he wanted to voice his support and join in on the protests.
The Texas senator shared video and photos on social media showing him riding shotgun in a tractor-trailer and waving to fellow protesters.
He went on to commend them on "standing up" for freedom and to thank those who showed up to support the movement.
"Thank you to every trucker who is standing up for freedom for every man, woman, and child in America!" he wrote on Twitter.

He thanked them once again in a later post, writing:
"Thank you to The People’s Convoy for speaking out for freedom!
"Petty government tyrants shouldn’t force people to make private health care decisions."

Earlier this week, Cruz took aim at Democrat Joe Biden over the multiple crises Americans are facing under his leadership.

Cruz told Fox News on Tuesday that Biden and his administration have "created the energy crisis that we’re facing with their war on energy."
"They could solve it themselves, and I have recently introduced legislation that would restore American energy independence," Cruz said.
"Instead of taking those options, they want to purchase oil from places like Iran and Venezuela."
Cruz said Biden's attempt to blame Russia for the rising gas prices is a "flat-out lie."
