Trump Predicted in 2020: You’ll Pay $7 per Gallon of Gas If Biden Becomes President
'That’s like a tax cut. That’s bigger than a tax cut'
In 2020, President Donald Trump warned that, if Joe Biden became president, Americans would end up paying $7, $8, or even $9 for a gallon of gas.
Trump also predicted that the Biden administration would tell people to get rid of their cars when gas prices soar.
“It’s an incredible thing that’s happened over the last few years, a lot of great things,” said Trump at the time.
“And you’re paying, what, $2 a gallon for your gasoline? That’s okay.”
“You know what that’s like?” he said.
“That’s like a tax cut. That’s bigger than a tax cut.”
“If Biden got in, you’d be paying $7, $8, $9. Then they’d say, ‘Get rid of your car,’” Trump added.
The average price for a gallon of gas is $4.17, while in California, the average is $5.44 per gallon.
A gas station in Los Angeles was selling regular gasoline for $6.99 per gallon, ABC News reported.

The “plus” grade of gasoline was selling for $7.19 a gallon.
Earlier this week, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg touted “clean energy” and electric cars, stating:
"Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings to the American people as well.
"Last month we announced the $5 billion investment for a nationwide electric vehicle charging network, so that people from rural, to suburban, to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV [electric vehicle].”
Vice President Kamala Harris urged Americans to “imagine a future” with electric vehicles.
“Imagine a future: the freight trucks that deliver bread and milk to our grocery store shelves and the buses that take children to school and parents to work,” she said.
“Imagine all the heavy-duty vehicles that keep our supply lines strong and allow our economy to grow. Imagine that they produce zero emissions. Well, you all imagined it.”
“That’s why we’re here today,” she added.
“Because we have the ability to see what can be unburdened by what has been and then to make the possible actually happen.”
But the soaring cost of gas isn’t good for Biden and the Democrats politically.
As Neon Nettle reported:
Biden and congressional Democrats are facing an uphill battle ahead of the midterms after championing green energy policies while calling to shift away from domestic oil drilling.
Gas prices are continuing to climb from near-record highs following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Biden announced during his State of the Union address last week, that the U.S. is releasing 30 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to protect consumers from the rising prices during the Russia-Ukraine war.
