Trump Destroys Hillary Clinton in Potential 2024 Presidential Rematch
Twice failed presidential candidate loses by ten points to Trump
Donald Trump would crush Hillary Clinton in a potential 2024 presidential rematch, according to a new McLaughlin poll.
The poll found the 45th president would destroy the twice-failed presidential candidate by double digits, reaffirming Trump’s popularity is still intact.
As Neon Nettle reported last week, establishment media outlets like CNN claimed people are “excited by the prospects” of Hillary running again.
But the poll painted a different picture, showing the former Secretary of State losing by ten points to Trump in a 2024 hypothetical election poll.
Trump also leads Hillary among independents by 15 percentage points (52-37 percent).
Eighty percent of Democrats favor Hillary in the head-to-head matchup.
90 percent of Republicans favor Trump
Hillary was ranked tied for the fourth most likely to win the 2024 Democrat primary if the election were held today.
Other primary contenders included:
Trump also leads Biden by five percentage points and Harris by nine percentage points in potential matchups, the polls showed.
Last week, former advisor to Bill Clinton, Dick Morris, said there is a “good chance” Hillary will run against Donald Trump in 2024.
As Neon Nettle reported:
Morris said a rematch between Clinton and Trump could be on the cards if Democrats fail to pull successful results in the November election, arguing that such a failure would see the party turn on both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Hillary has set up a brilliant, brilliant strategy that nobody else is able to do,” Morris declared.
“What she’s done — at a point at which no Democrat is willing to come out and criticize Joe Biden, but all Democrats are disappointed with him and have to realize the ultimate correctness of our accusations that he was incompetent to be president — she has set up a zero-sum gain with him,” he added.
Meanwhile, two prominent Democrats argued Clinton was the party’s “best option” to control the White House after the 2024 presidential election.
Neon Nettle reported that Democratic consultant and pollster Douglas Schoen and former New York City Council president, Manhattan borough president, and state assemblyman Andrew Stein pushed the idea of putting Clinton forward at the Democrats’ nominee for the presidential election in an opinion piece.
“If Democrats want a fighting chance at winning the presidency in 2024, Mrs. Clinton is likely their best option,” Schoen and Stein opine in the Wall Street Journal.
“A perfect storm in the Democratic Party is making a once-unfathomable scenario plausible: a political comeback for Hillary Clinton in 2024,” the duo writes.
