George Floyd’s 4-Year-Old Niece Shot While Sleeping in ‘Targeted Attack’

George Floyd's niece, Arianna, 4, was shot while sleeping in bed in what is believed to be a targeted attack.
Arianna was shot inside an apartment in Houston, Texas, and was one of six people there at the time of the shooting.
According to The New York Post, police don't know how many shooting suspects may have been involved in the incident.
Arianna was hit once, leaving her with “a punctured lung and liver and three broken ribs," ABC13 notes.
Derrick Delane, Arianna’s father, said:
“My daughter jumped up and said, ‘Daddy, I’ve been hit,’ and I was shocked until I seen the blood and I realized my 4-year-old daughter was really hit.
"She didn’t know what was going on.
"She was asleep.”
“Why would my house get shot up?
"My daughter don’t know.
"I can’t explain that to her," he added.
"As the father, you’re supposed to protect the kids.”
Delane claimed police didn't arrive at the house until over four hours after the shooting occurred.
An investigation into the response to the shooting incident ha snow been launched.
Last year, Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three charges of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd, and taken to a maximum-security prison, and placed on suicide watch.
