Tulsi Gabbard: Rittenhouse Not a 'White Supremacist,' He Wanted to 'Protect People'
Former Dem Rep blasts leftists politicians

Former Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard blasted leftist politicians for calling Kyle Rittenhouse a “white supremacist terrorist."
Gabbard wrote on Twitter:
“With no evidence, MSM & antifa-loving politicians immediately labeled Rittenhouse a white supremacist terrorist."
“It’s obvious now that he was just a foolish kid who felt he needed to protect people & the community from rioters & arsonists because the government failed to do so.”

Rittenhouse defended his actions on cross-examination from the prosecution on Wednesday.

The questioning led the defense to ask Judge Bruce Schroeder to declare a mistrial.
“The prosecutor in this Rittenhouse trial obviously did not do his due diligence before making the decision to prosecute,” Gabbard said in a video attached to her tweet.
“This tragedy never would have happened if the government had simply carried out its responsibilities to protect the safety, lives and property of innocent people.”
Gabbard's remarks are in contrast to Democrats, who have called for Rittenhouse to be jailed.

Democratic New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries posted on Twitter:
“Lock up Kyle Rittenhouse and throw away the key."

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin said was lucky it was not “illegal to be an idiot” based on his behavior but said, “It does seem like he has a plausible case of self-defense.”
Toobin continued:
“Homicide’s a different matter, and you know he may have a defense here.”
Meanwhile, Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued that Rittenhouse shot a convicted "child rapist" in self-defense because he was "trying to touch an unwilling minor."
"In a move that surprised lawyers everywhere, Rittenhouse took the stand in his own defense,” Carlson said.
"And here are the facts of it: A convicted child rapist called Joseph Rosenbaum was released from a mental hospital and then went directly to join the mob that was burning downtown Kenosha.”
