Billionaire Bill Gates was caught sending “flirtatious” and “inappropriate” emails to a female Microsoft employee, according to a new report.

A report in The New York Times says Gates sent creepy messages to a Microsoft staffer when he was serving as the company's CEO.

Gates was reportedly warned by executives in 2008 about the inappropriate emails after the female employee filed a complaint, according to a Microsoft spokesperson.

Gates, who was still married to Melinda Gates while serving as the company’s chair, asked the female subordinate out on a date.

"These emails proposed meeting outside of work and off-campus," Frank Shaw, a Microsoft spokesperson said.

"While flirtatious, they were not overtly sexual but were deemed to be inappropriate.”

"After they discovered the messages, executives warned Gates that his behavior was inappropriate and notified a small group of board members about the incident, Shaw said," according to the NY Times.

"Gates told the board members that he agreed that what he had done was inappropriate."

The board took no further action.

Gates left the company shortly thereafter in a long-planned departure.

However, he remained a member of its board until last year, according to News Thud.

The executives’ warnings to Gates were reported earlier by The Wall Street Journal.

The report adds that the spokesperson for Gates's office, Bridgitt Arnold, denied the allegations to the Wall Street Journal.

"These claims are false," Arnold claimed.

They are "recycled rumors from sources who have no direct knowledge, and in some cases have significant conflicts of interest.”

Arnold did not provide a comment to the NY Times.
