Homeowner Shoots Previous House Owner Who Repeatedly Broke into Property

The intruder, who was the son of the former homeowner, fled before police arrived

A man who kept breaking into his former California home was shot and killed by the new owner, according to reports.

29-year-old Lennin Elizalde forced his way into the alley Springs house on Oct. 9, according to KCRA.

The intruder, who was the son of the former homeowner, fled before police arrived.

Police warned the owners the man intended to come back to the home, which he believed was still his

The suspect then made threats about returning to the home to arresting officers.

A judge denied law enforcement’s request for a large bail because the suspect was not charged with a felony.

Police said in their official press statement"

“He began physically assaulting them” before the owners shot him in self-defense. 

“During the altercation, one of the occupants were knocked to the floor,” it added.

While on the ground and while attempting to stand up and fight off Lennin, the second occupant discharged his pistol more than one time towards Lennin.”

The sheriff’s office stated:

“The residence was completely vacant when it was purchased by the new occupants, and Lennin did not have any personal items or legal reason to return,” said the sheriff’s office.

The new owners had recently bought the home, the article reported.

They were not charged in connection with Elizadle’s death, the report said.
