A number of criminal illegal immigrants were arrested by Border Patrol agents in Texas last week, which included MS-13 gang members and sex offenders.
The arrests highlight the border's safety concerns amid the current surge.
There were 9,278 arrests of criminal migrants in FY 2021, compared with 2,438 in FY 2020 and 4,269 in FY 2019.
The State Department said 11,411 refugees have been allowed into he U.S during the budget year.
That was less than 11,814 in 2020 and below the 62,500 ceilings, Joe Biden set in May.
That is not including the tens of thousands of Afghans brought to America following Biden's disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
Republicans have since demanded transparency from Biden on the border crisis.
They called on the White House to undo three actions it took at the beginning of the administration.
“This is unconscionable,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told reporters Wednesday.
“And Joe Biden and Kamala Harris caused it."
"The way to fix it, is reverse the political decisions they made on January 20 of this year; they could do it and fix it."
'It is only partisan politics that prevent them from doing so.”
Earlier this year, Biden's DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was caught in a leaked audio file admitting that the border crisis is "unsustainable" and "we're going to lose" with illegal crossings as numbers hit a 21-year high.
