An armed customer who witnessed a robbery at a Texas fried chicken restaurant shot and killed an armed suspect, reports said.
The incident occurred at Church’s Chicken in Port Arthur in the early evening, according to KDFM.
The assailants fled the restaurant after being shot at.
They were later found, and one died at an area hospital, according to police.
The other man is expected to recover.
The armed citizen remained on the scene until police arrived before being questioned, according to Fox News.
There have been no charges brought against the suspect who survived.
KFDM noted that Port Arthur police said the two suspected robbers were armed with handguns.
Police are also looking into a robbery at a Port Arthur Jack in the Box that occurred the day before the incident at Church’s Chicken and trying to ascertain if there was any connection to the two suspects.

The Post Millenial reported the pair of thieves fled on foot, but they didn't make it very far.
They were both found by police and taken to hospital, where one of them died later of his wounds.
The Port Arthur Police Department said in a press release:
"Several shots were fired, and both suspects were struck."
"The suspects fled the scene and were later located by police officers."
Detectives learned that two suspects armed with handguns were robbing the restaurant, but an armed citizen intervened, and a shootout ensued.
