A far-left group, funded by liberal billionaire George Soros' Open Society Foundations and the Center for American Progress, has called for murdering Republicans in a letter to the FCC.

The letter was sent by the liberal group Free Press to the Federal Communications Commission and included the question:

"Are we going to have to shoot Republican[s] to reclaim our democracy?"

The Free Press letter was signed by almost 5,000 of the group's members, who also provided comments with their own signatures.

The group also called on the FCC to "investigate its own history of racism and examine how its policy choices and actions have harmed black people and other communities of color."

California member, David Lyons, made the call to "shoot" Republicans and also complained that "racist horsesh*t like FOX and the other ultraconservative outlets and Christians" owned "most of our media."

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr said because of Free Press's violent rhetoric; their petition would be withdrawn.

Carr told the Washington Free Beacon:

"The only action the FCC should take on a request like this—one based on a comment asking whether Republicans should be shot—is to dismiss it with prejudice."

"The FCC should not endorse this type of call for violence by opening an FCC proceeding on it."

Free Press apologized and said, "deeply regrets that this incident occurred."

It also vowed to "take measures in the future to closely review public comments to ensure that this never happens again."

Free Press's major donors are Tides Foundation, the Center for American Progress, and George Soros' Open Society Foundations.

Its CEO Jessica González also has a colorful history of demonizing political opponents.

In 2018, she wrote that civility was "bulls*it."

"If 'civility' demands we STFU & politely welcome white supremacists from this Administration who are committing atrocities & violence against our communities, then FUCK civility," Gonzalez said.

"You will not distract us with this bullshit."

She also likened Fox News to Nazi Germany and claimed that the promotion of the American national holiday, Thanksgiving, legitimized Native American genocide.
