Joe Biden Struggles with Coughing Fit at Gavin Newsom Rally - WATCH
'We need leadership, we need Gavin Newsom'
As Democrat Joe Biden delivered his speech for Gov. Gavin Newsom on the eve of the California recall election, he was interrupted by coughing fits.
Biden touched on a number of progressive issues from climate change to abortion as he linked Larry Elder with President Trump.
While Biden did not say anything that particularly stood out, he was repeatedly interrupted by a lingering cough.
The Biden speech begins at the 2:00:00 mark below:
"In Mississippi (*cough*), children are required to be protected against measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B, polio, tetanus, and more."
"It’s a state requirement (*cough*), I propose a mandate, and it’s an outrage."
"We need leadership, we need Gavin Newsom,” Biden proudly said as his cough pulled him from he microphone.
The coughing became so bothersome for Biden he eventually apologized to the audience.
“A governor who follows science, whose got the courage to do what’s right (*cough*) and who will lead, and I apologize for coughing,” Biden said.
But despite Biden's apology, he continued coughing.
A day before, activist Rose McGowan called on America to rise up and "put a stake in the heart of evil" in support of Elder.
"Why not change?" McGowan asked during the joint presser with Republican California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder.
"Why not put a stake in the heart of evil?"
McGowan said that Elder was the "the better candidate and the better man" over "evil" Democrats like Newsom, who only serve "the elites."
Elder is seeking to unseat Newsom in Tuesday's recall election, but recent polls show Newsom, a Democrat, comfortably ahead in deep-blue California.
