Cages of dogs have been abandoned at Kabul airport after the last American flight left Afghanistan on Monday.
After the last plane left following the frantic evacuation from the terrorist-controlled country, images emerged showing crates of dogs still at the airport.
UPDATE: A previous version of this article stated that the dogs were working U.S. military dogs. However, the Pentagon has since confirmed that no military K-9s were left behind. The images appear to show private pet dogs and strays that were not allowed to fly internationally. Thankfully, the Kabul Small Animal Rescue is working on saving the dogs. The president of Veteran Sheepdogs of America, Joshua Hosler, is frantically trying to rescue the dogs.

American Humane has offered to help rescue the dogs and provide lifetime medical care for them.

The group says it pleaded with the Biden administration to load the animals into whatever cargo space remained and fly them to safety.
Unfortunately, the animals are not cleared for flying due to the risk of diseases such as rabies spreading, however.
