Graham: ‘Biden the Most Incompetent National Security President in Modern History'
'Over 212,000 illegal immigrants who came into the country in July'
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has described Joe Biden as “the most incompetent national security president in modern history” amid reports that 212,000 illegal immigrants entered the United States in July and the recent disaster in Afghanistan.
Graham said in a statement in response to Biden's explanation for the border crisis:
“So much for the idea that there would be a ‘seasonal downturn’ in illegal immigrant crossings at our southern border!”
“In July, there were over 212,000 illegal immigrants who came into the country – and that’s not counting those who got away."
"Only God knows how many we missed,” he said.
“The men and women of the Border Patrol are heroes who are being asked to do the impossible."
“Between the crisis at the border and the debacle in Afghanistan, one could argue that President Biden is the most incompetent national security president in modern history,” Graham said.
“The only thing worse than being incompetent is being stubborn to the point that you can’t look at the facts and change your mind when necessary."
“When it comes to the border and situation in Afghanistan, the worst is yet to come,” the senator predicted.
The CBP wrote on its website:
“In total, there were 212,672 encounters along the Southwest Border, 27 percent of which involved individuals who had at least one prior encounter in the previous 12 months, compared to an average one-year re-encounter rate of 14 percent for Fiscal Years 2014-2019.
“Encounters of unaccompanied children increased 24 percent, with 18,962 encounters in July compared with 15,234 in June."
"In July, the average number of unaccompanied children in CBP custody was 1,363 per day, compared with an average of 794 per day in June."
“Encounters of family unit individuals increased by 49 percent from 55,839 in June to 82,966 in July—still below the peak of 88,587 encounters in May 2019."
"The number of encounters with family unit individuals so far this fiscal year (328,121) remains below the number of encounters at the same point in Fiscal Year 2019 (474,545),” the CBP stated.
Biden's DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that the border crisis is "unsustainable" and "we're going to lose."
"If our borders are the first line of defense, we're going to lose, and this is unsustainable," Mayorkas confesses in an audio file obtained by Fox News.
"We can't continue like this," he adds.
"Our people in the field can't continue, and our system isn't built for it."
