Trump Torches Mitch McConnell: He's ‘Working So Hard to Give Biden a Victory’
'Now they’ll go for the big one, including the biggest tax increases in the history'

Donald Trump blasted Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for caving to Senate Democrats on the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.
Trump wrote in a statement:
“Nobody will ever understand why Mitch McConnell allowed this non-infrastructure bill to be passed."
Trump also questioned McConnell’s logic to give up on leverage for the infrastructure bill and allowing Democrats to go after a more partisan $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill.
“He is working so hard to give Biden a victory; now they’ll go for the big one, including the biggest tax increases in the history of our country."

In May, McConnell claimed he was “100 percent” focused on stopping Biden’s agenda.
But only weeks later, he quietly endorsed Senate Republicans working with Biden on infrastructure.
McConnell described the effort as a “compromise” on a “core government responsibility” and voted to advance the process.
“This is a compromise product crafted by colleagues with big, principled differences, and the senate with the narrowest possible split,” he said.
Trump torched McConnell’s leadership.
“I have quietly said for years that Mitch McConnell is the most overrated man in politics — now I don’t have to be quiet anymore,” he wrote.

McConnell blasted Trump’s plans to invest in infrastructure during his 2016 presidential campaign.
“What I hope we will clearly avoid, and I’m confident we will, is a trillion-dollar stimulus,” he said in December 2016.

Trump proposed a $2 trillion infrastructure bill while president but was met with opposition from Republicans who said it was too expensive.
Earlier this week, Trump described the infrastructure bill as a “gift to the Democrat Party, compliments of Mitch McConnell.”
Trump said in a statement:
“If Mitch McConnell were smart, which we’ve seen no evidence of, he would use the debt ceiling card to negotiate a good infrastructure package."
"This is a 2,700-page bill that no one could have possibly read—they would have needed to take speed reading courses."
“It is a gift to the Democrat Party, compliments of Mitch McConnell and some RINOs, who have no idea what they are doing."
"There is very little on infrastructure in all of those pages.
”Instead, they track your driving so they can tax you."
