Thug Snatches Woman’s Handbag, Gets Humiliated When ‘Family Man’ Steps In
Proud wife films incident as hero husband catches crook and returns bag - WATCH
One crook thought he was in for an easy ride when he stole a lone woman's handbag but ended up getting the shock of his life when a humble "family man" stepped in and saved the day, humiliating the lawless thug in the process.
And if the thief thought his humiliation ended in the street, he was wrong, as video of the incident quickly went viral across social media, racking up over 4.2 million views so far, and climbing.
Nicole Brownson proudly filmed her hero husband chase-down and catch the purse-snatcher before teaching him some manners.
Sunglasses-wearing father Darren Brownson then calmly returns the handbag to the owner.
The couple says they were driving through Farnham in Surrey, UK, when Darren spotted the theft taking place.
When he saw a hooded man stealing the bag from a woman, his natural instincts took over and he jumped out of his vehicle and chased after the criminal as he made his escape.
The footage, filmed by proud wife Nicole, begins as "regular dad" Darren had caught up with the criminal.
Mr. Brownson can be seen grappling with the punk outside a restaurant.
The 36-year-old, who describes himself as a family man, can be heard chastising the suspect, shouting: "You f******g stole that."
In captions written on the video, Nicole said: "So my husband saw a purse getting snatched today.
"He pulled over, chased the guy down and retrieved the purse then returned it to the owner."
The handbag can be seen on the floor and Mr. Brownson can be heard shouting "you are a scumbag" while holding the suspect in a headlock.
Nicole can be heard telling a shocked passer-by: "Someone stole a handbag."
The 36-year-old father, who works for a plant hire company, then hurls the hooded man to the floor and shouts "Get the f*** out of here" before telling the suspect to run.
Mr. Brownson, still wearing his sunglasses, then calmly retrieves and the handbag and returns to his wife who is filming the incident.
Nicole asks him who it belongs to and Darren tells her it belonged to someone further up the street before the couple returns the bag to its rightful owner.
The moment, which was shared on TikTok with the caption "I couldn't love him more," has been viewed millions of times across social media with users praising Mr. Brownson's courage and effectiveness at dealing with the situation.
It is not known if Surrey Police has been made aware of the incident or whether officers are investigating.
