Biden Approval Falls to New Low at 46%; 52% Disapprove: Rasmussen
Biden's disapproval rating pushes him a further six points 'underwater'
Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped to a new low level at 46%, according to a new poll released by Rasmussen Reports.
Biden's disapproval rating is 52%, pushing him a further six points “underwater.”
The latest figures include 26% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 42% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. (see trends)
Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis.
To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 2.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
Results are also compiled on a full-week basis, and crosstabs for full-week results are available for Platinum Members.
Throughout Biden's presidency, he has been in the high 40s and low 50s in the poll.
In March, Biden saw approval ratings as low as 47% but was 51% as recently as last week.
The figures come as inflation fears mount and the administration's aggressive campaign on vaccination.
Last week, Neon Nettle reported that the majority of Americans shifted from optimistic to pessimistic about the direction the U.S is going.
The poll shows how much sentiment has changed since Biden entered the White House.
ABC News reported that 55% of the American public are now pessimistic about the country's direction, a significant change from one-third (36%) from an ABC News/Ipsos poll published May 2.
In May, Americans were more optimistic by a 28-percentage point margin.
“Currently, 90% of Democrats, 12% of Republicans, and 48% of independents approve of the job Biden is doing."
"His ratings among Democrats and independents are the lowest to date among those groups."The new poll marks the first time he has less-than majority approval among independents,” Gallup said.
“The new rating is from a July 6-21 Gallup poll, which also finds that 45% of U.S. adults disapprove of Biden‘s performance and 5% do not have an opinion.”
