Self-described "socialist" Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is pumping vast sums of cash into her own political merchandise company, Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings have revealed.

According to a new Reuters report, "anti-capitalist" Ocasio-Cortez has invested over $1.4 million in her online store since the start of 2021, Reuters reported Monday.

The "AOC"-branded merchandise includes items with slogans such as "Tax the Rich," "Abolish ICE," and "Fight for our Future."

AOC’s campaign paid a political merchandise firm, Financial Innovations, to create T-shirts and hats with leftist slogans, according to the FEC, Reuters reported

According to Reuters, the purpose of AOC's online store is to fundraise for her campaign while also making her name more notable in the Democratic Party.

"It’s a sign she is nurturing her massive influence,” said Andrew Frawley, who helped manage the merchandising operation for Andrew Yang’s 2020 campaign.

Frawley also said this campaign could be making at least a 50 percent profit, if not more, from the merchandise sales, according to Reuters.

Ocasio-Cortez has over 8 million followers on Instagram and has shot videos and interviews, such as one with Vogue in 2020, in which she detailed her beauty routine.

Since the November election, her campaign has raised around $6.9 million.

"One would assume that she does have ambitions for higher office,” Political Scientist Erika Franklin Fowler told Reuters.

"Having a big bank account is certainly useful for that."

AOC's campaign told Reuters that the store’s goal is to uplift “independent artists of color whose work tells a story of community and imagines a more equitable world for all.”

The $1.4M sum AOC paid to Financial Innovations in the first 6 months of 2021 is roughly twice as much as what she paid to the firm the previous two years, the Daily Mail noted.

As Neon Nettle reported last December, AOC's online store - shop.ocasiocortez.com - was selling sweatshirts for $65 that say, "TAX THE RICH."

Leftists could also splash out $27 for a "Green New Deal" mug.

Then there’s the "Drink Water & Don’t Be Racist" T-shirt for $27.

And the "cancel student debt" shirt for the same price.

AOC fanboys could grab an "ABOLISH ICE" dad hat for $28.

But the "SOCIAL ECONOMIC RACIAL JUSTICE" sweatshirt will set you back $65.

The first question in the FAQ section addresses returns: "We do not accept returns or exchanges."
