Police Arrest Democrat Joyce Beatty after Protest in Hart Senate Office Building
Video of Democrat's arrest goes viral on social media
Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty was arrested by Capitol Police in the Hart Senate Office Building on Thursday after leading a protest.
A photo of Beatty being arrested was shared by Politico reporter Nicholas Wu showing Capitol Police officers zip tying her hands together.

Before the arrests, a video showed Beaty standing with left-wing activists chanting, “end the filibuster!”
Before Beatty's arrest, she shared photos to social media claiming she would be marching to the Senate "to send a strong message” about black women's voting rights.
Beatty wrote in a tweet:
“Black women are demanding OUR right to vote."
“We’re marching to the Senate to send a strong message.”
But just minutes later, Beatty's social media account shared images of police taking the congresswoman out of the building with her hands zip-tied behind her back.
“Let the people vote,” the tweet stated.
“Fight for justice.”

Among the organizers were Tamika Mallory, founder of Unit Freedom, and Dr. Johnetta Cole, chair of the National Council of Negro Women.
The co-founder of Black Lives Matter, LaTosha Brown, said it was not right that a tiny group of people in the Senate could "impose their will" on voters.
"Every day, there are decisions being made in this place that are impacting our children, that are impacting our families, that are impacting our community, and you have a responsibility to stand for what it is you believe in," she told the Black News Channel.
Capitol Police released a statement on Beatty's arrest, saying, “nine people were arrested for demonstrating in a prohibited area on Capitol Grounds.”
The statement read:
“At approximately 3:30 pm, the United States Capitol Police responded to the Atrium in the Hart Senate Office Building for reports of illegal demonstration activity."
“After officers arrived on the scene, they warned the demonstrators three times to stop.
"Those who refused were arrested for D.C. Code §22-1307.
"Two males and seven females were transported to USCP Headquarters for processing.”
But it is one rule for Democrats and another for Republicans if you consider the use and meaning of the word "fight."
When President Donald Trump used the same word to highlight the massive corruption in government, Democrats said he was leading an insurrection.
