George Floyd Mural Destroyed by Lightning Strike in Ohio

A mural dedicated to George Floyd was decimated by a bolt of lightning in Toledo, Ohio, witnesses say.
The Doppler Radar did show a lightning strike hit the same block as the George Floyd mural, confirming witnesses' accounts.

The mural was reduced to a pile of bricks following the strike.

Witnesses told police their account of the lightning strike hitting the mural.
The building was used to house the Mugshots Bar.

Toledo police were at the scene putting tape around the pile of bricks that once formed the artwork.

The mural was painted almost one year to the date of its collapse last July.

Below is what the shrine looked like last summer before the lightning strike.
Many activists across the country have built shrines for George Floyd, who died in Police custody last year before sparking a wave of protests and riots.
Another mural for Floyd instructed special rules for white people, as reported earlier this year.
The sign at the square reads:
“A Sacred Space for Community, Public Grief, and Protest.”
