Trump: 'I Stand with the Cuban People 100% In Their Fight for Freedom'
'The Government must let them speak and be free!'

President Donald Trump expressed his support for the Cuban anti-communist protesters on Monday, urging the Biden administration to match their courage.
Trump said in a statement:
“I stand with the Cuban people 100% in their fight for freedom."
"The Government must let them speak and be free! Joe Biden MUST stand up to the Communist regime or—history will remember."
“The Cuban people deserve freedom and human rights! THEY ARE NOT AFRAID!”
Cuba saw thousands of protesters flood the streets on Sunday who demanded an end to their dictatorial government.

Protesters marched as they chanted “Freedom!” and “Down with communism!”
Others referred to Raul Castro-anointed Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel and chanted "Down with communism!”
“We are not afraid!” protester Samantha Regalado chanted.
“They’ll have to walk over our dead bodies if they want to take on the revolution,” he said.
“We’re willing to do everything, and we’ll be on the streets battling.”
Joe Biden said Cubans were seeking “relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic" but failed to mention their rise against their communist government.

“The Cuban people are not on the streets asking for medicine; they’re not on the streets asking for food,” said Orlando Gutierrez-Boronat.
"They’re in the streets demanding freedom.
“What they are saying is they don’t want a tomorrow with the Communist Party in charge.”
This is deeply moving.

Trump also noted that Biden and the Democrats campaigned to undo his tough stance on Cuba's communist regime.
“Don’t forget that Biden and the Democrats campaigned on reversing my very tough stance on Cuba,” Trump said.
"Remember when Obama attended baseball games with Castros while they imprisoned, beat, and killed the Cuban people."
Neon Nettle reported that a CBS producer blamed Trump's policies for current protests in Cuba.
Portia Siegelbaum claimed:
“The Trump administration passed many more regulations, many more sanctions against it, which basically has cut off all income coming into Cuba."
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) also responded, writing on Twitter:
“The Communist Cuban regime will be consigned to the dustbin of history."
"It has brutalized & denied freedom to generations of Cubans, and forced my family & so many others to flee."
"The American people stand squarely with the men & women of Cuba and their noble fight for liberty.”
