Over 500k Illegals Crossed the Border since Kamala Harris Took Charge of Crisis
Harris faces backlash for numbers pouring into U.S
More than half a million illegal immigrants have flooded into America since Joe Biden tapped Kamala Harris to take charge of the crisis.
Harris only recently agreed to visit the border after Trump announced he was visiting.
Her decision prompted many critics to suggest was purely down to optics.
According to The Washington Free Beacon
Vice President Kamala Harris finally visited the southern border three months after being put in charge of solving the immigration crisis.
In that time, more than half a million illegal immigrants were apprehended at the southern border.Upon arriving in El Paso on Friday, the vice president continued to attack journalists for asking questions about why she waited so long to make the trip.
“It’s not my first trip, I’ve been to the border many times,” Harris snapped, apparently referring to previous visits she made as a senator.
"Since President Joe Biden made Harris his 'border czar' on March 24, illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border at a record rate of nearly 180,000 per month, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
CBP agents apprehended 178,854 illegal immigrants at the southern border in April, which at the time was the highest monthly figure since April 2000.
At least, it was until the following month when CBP agents apprehended 180,034 illegal immigrants attempting to enter the country.
When the CBP data for June is reported next month, the total number of illegal crossings since late March is likely to surpass 500,000, which would mark a tremendous increase compared with last year.
Earlier this year, Republican Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said Harris was "the worst possible choice” to manage the growing crisis and the U.S-Mexico border.
Ducey said during a speech at the University of Arizona:
“She’s about the worst possible choice that one could make.
“In no point in her career has she given any indication that she considers the border a problem or a serious threat.”
In April, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said Harris repeatedly ignored his invitations to tour the state's border facilities.
"I guess if you were a philosopher, you would say no response is a very loud response because we’ve not received any response," Brnovich told Fox Business host Dagen McDowell.
Trump attacked both Biden and Harris for their poor response to the situation at the border.
"The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history," Trump said.
"In mere weeks, they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history,” he added.
"We went from having border security that was the envy of the world to a lawless border that is now pitied around the world."
"Biden and Harris have handed control of our border over to cartels, criminals, and coyotes."
"Drug dealers, MS-13 gang members, human smugglers, sex traffickers, and the criminal elements of the world now have free reign."
