Omar Falsely Claims Critical Race Theory Is Not Being Taught in Schools

Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar has denied Critical Race Theory (CRT) is being taught in public schools, despite a backlash from parents for the doctrine being pushed on their children.
Omar wrote:
"Republicans love to create outrage over things that aren’t actually happening."
"People should be asking them, what elementary, middle and high school is teaching Critical Race Theory and why they are spinning false narratives."
Omar's comments come just a day after a bill was introduced by Wisconsin Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman to ban Washington, D.C. public schools from teaching CRT.

The bill was the latest in a series of legislative pushes to ban Critical Race Theory.
Critics of CRT argue that its main concept gives a twisted version of history and creates further division amongst races.

Grothman argued the subject teaches children "to hate each other and hate their country."
"In other words, students being taught that they are defined by the color of their skin, not the content of their character," he said in a Friday statement.
Neon Nettle reported that a plurality of poll respondents say CRT is making race relations "worse," according to Rasmussen Reports.
CRT has been described by top lawmakers as a “prejudicial ideological tool” that teaches students “to judge individuals based on sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin.”

In recent weeks, it has emerged as a hot button issue.
Just last week, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) called for a ban on CRT from being taught in classrooms across Florida, for example.
The call was backed by the Florida Board of Education.
Several concerned parents made passionate pleas against CRT to the board.
Earleir this month, Iowa passed groundbreaking new laws that ban far-left Critical Race Theory (CRT) from being taught or promoted in government-funded agencies, schools, or universities.
Iowa's Republican governor, Kim Reynolds, signed the new legislation into law last week, effective from July.
Reynolds warned that the Marxist ideology has no place in the education system, noting that schools have a responsibility to "promote learning."
