Trump: Biden-Putin Meeting a ‘Good Day for Russia, We Got Nothing’
'And it was given back, and nothing was gotten for it'
President Donald Trump blasted Democrat Joe Biden after he met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Geneva, saying it was a "good day for Russia" but America "got nothing."
Trump said Putin got to be on the world stage with the U.S. president, but Biden received nothing in return.
During an interview with Trump on Fox News, host Sean Hannity said:
“Let’s start with the events today and your overall thoughts."
“And I want you to address — I will get to a very specific question, but, first, let’s start with your overall thoughts today and what Biden was facing in Putin."
"And then we will move on from there," Hannity said.
“Well, I guess the overall is, we didn’t get anything."
“We gave a very big stage to Russia, and we got nothing."
"We gave up something that was unbelievably valuable," Trump said.
"I stopped the pipeline, Nord Stream."
"And that pipeline was stopped."
"And it was given back, and nothing was gotten for it."
"And it was just — it was another day. And performance art, you will take a look at how various people performed, namely, the two people," he added.
"And, you know, you have to form your own judgment," Trump added.
"It’s not for me to say. But I will say that it was — I think it was a good day for Russia."
"I don’t see what we got out of it.”
Reports revealed that Biden looked down at flashcards briefly while sitting with Putin in Geneva ahead of the meeting.
“I think it’s always better to meet face to face, try to determine where we have mutual interest, cooperate,” Biden said, CNN reported.
Putin, after greeting Biden, thanked him for “the initiative to meet.”
