Sen. Scott Calls on Americans to Stop Buying from 'Despicable' Communist China
Republican senator issues to to action to tackle oppressive Chinese regime
Republican Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) has issued a call to action to the American people, urging the public to stop buying goods from Communist China.
In an age when America’s billionaire class has wedded the United States to China, the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has become increasingly emboldened by its rising wealth and power.
During an appearance on “The Cats Roundtable” show on WABC 770 AM-N.Y., Sen. Scott differentiated between the Chinese people and the CCP.
“We should stop buying anything from communist China," the Florida senator declared.
"They are not our friend," Scott added.
"The people are wonderful. The government is despicable,” he asserted.
Scott recalled the Cold War with the Soviet Union and how Americans “never thought about buying anything from the Soviet Union.”
Scott then listed China’s litany of human rights abuses, from its organ-harvesting practices to its suppression of religion, to its encroachment on the sovereignty of Hong Kong.
"They don’t believe in your rights," he warned.
"If you look at how they treat their own citizens, how do you think they think about Americans?
"They put a million people in prison [by] their religion,” he said.
"They involuntarily harvest your organs if you’re in prison.
"They took away the basic rights of Hong Kong citizens.
"They built their military to defeat the U.S. military.
"They’re threatening Taiwan right now.
"So, the way we can beat them is we have got to stop doing business with them — stop.”
Scott also noted that the more America continues to grow the Chinese economy, the weaker the United States will get, allowing China to become a world superpower unlike any other.
"We cannot continue to help them build their economy, because as their economy grows and gets bigger than ours, we will never be able to beat or defend if they want to invade Taiwan, or wherever they want to go,” he said.
"They are an expansionary country…China, they want to control every country all over the world.”
Rick Scott’s denunciation of China follows recent news reports speculating about the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently stated that the evidence has convinced him COVID-19 leaked from a lab.
"We know for sure they covered up this virus,” Pompeo said on Fox News.
"I am confident that we will find that the evidence that we have seen to date is consistent with a lab leak and I’m convinced that’s what we’ll see.
"If I am wrong, I hope the Chinese Communist Party will come forward and make a fool of me."
Pompeo also recalled how China ignored the Trump administration and went dark after the first reported case of COVID-19 showed up in the United States.
"They wouldn’t take our phone calls, they wouldn’t answer our questions,” he said
"We sent inquires, we couldn’t get a straight answer.
"The Chinese Communist Party clearly knew they had a problem, they didn’t want the world to know it and I’m convinced they still know they have a problem and don’t want us to know it.”
