Chrissy Teigen Apologizes for Pressuring Teen to Kill Herself
Liberal activist exposed for bullying then-16-year-old Courtney Stodden
Liberal Hollywood activist Chrissy Teigen has been forced to issue an apology after it emerged that she was bullying a teenager and pressuring the then-16-year-old to kill herself.
Teigen apologized Wednesday for repeatedly sending abusive messages to then-minor Courtney Stodden.
The 35-year-old model and wife of singer John Legend admitted she bullied Stodden through tweets and direct messages she sent to her a decade ago.
In a slew of abusive messages in 2011, Teigen had encouraged the former teen bride to commit suicide.
In since-deleted messages reported by The Daily Beast, then-25-year-old Teigen told Stodden it was her “fantasy” for the teen to take a “dirt nap.”
Following the report, Chrissy has now been forced to take ownership of her behavior and on Wednesday she tweeted: "I'm mortified and sad at who I used to be."
"I was an insecure, attention seeking troll," Teigen added.
"I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior."
is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 12, 2021
Stodden had revealed earlier this week the messages that they used to receive from Teigen.
She told The Daily Beast that Teigen has never apologized for her behavior, even as the model continuously complains about online “trolls.”
Now that the deleted posts from Teigen have resurfaced in the news, the liberal model is apparently ready to publicly apologize.
“I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize,” she wrote.
"I’m so sorry, Courtney.
"I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.
“And I am so sorry I let you guys down.
"I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.”

When Stodden was 16 years old, her mother approved the teen’s marriage to a 50-year-old actor.
Stodden has since called the man her predator and opened up about the troubling ordeal.
During this time, Teigen apparently harassed Stodden and even sent her death threats via Twitter direct messages.
“[Teigen] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself,” Stodden told The Daily Beast.
“Things like, ‘I can’t wait for you to die.’”
Notably, Teigen has not denied sending Stodden direct messages encouraging the minor to kill herself.
The Daily Beast posted screenshots of Teigen’s now-deleted nasty messages to the teen.
Here are some of the highlights:
“@CourtneyStodden My Friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmmmmm baby.”
Retweeing Stodden, Teigen posted: “Go. to sleep. forever.”
“@CourtneyStodden what drug makes you do that with your mouth? asking for a friend who really wants to look like an idiot. thanks.”
“@CourtneyStodden do you have a family.”
“@CourtneyStodden I hate you.”
Retweeing Stodden, Teigen posted: “Why do you speak like a Fabio book?”
After Teigen announced in March that she was leaving Twitter for good, ironically complaining of mean tweets sent to her, Stodden posted a screenshot of one of the model’s mean tweets to her.
“What a shame #ChrissyTeigen is leaving Twitter,” she sarcastically captioned the post.
