Rep. Byron Donalds: ‘White Liberals’ Are Greatest Threat to Black Conservatives
'I find it to be outrageous and disgusting'

Republican Florida Rep. Byron Donalds took aim at white liberals amid South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott being dubbed “Uncle Tim” following his speech on Wednesday.
The “Uncle Tim” hashtag began to trend on Twitter after Scott declared the U.S. was not a racist country.
“I find it to be outrageous and disgusting,” Donalds said regarding told the Daily Caller’s, Brianna Lyman.
“As a black conservative, the person that is the greatest threat to me and my colleague Sen. Scott is white liberals, because they have no tolerance for a black man who doesn’t agree with their liberal ideology and so they will use frankly racist terms like Uncle Tim or Uncle Tom, and they get no pushback at all.”

Scott revealed he’s often been called the N-word and “Uncle Tom” simply because he is a black Republican.
But Scott said America is not a racist country.
“Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country," Scott said.
"It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different discrimination."
"And it’s wrong to try to use our painful past to dishonestly shut down debates in the present.”

Just hours after his speech, “Uncle Tim” began trending on Twitter.
Scott responded to the hashtag, noting the “intolerance” comes predominantly from the left.
"The left has... doubled down that they are going to, not attack my policies, but they're literally attacking the color of my skin," he added.
"You can't step out of your lane according to the liberal elite left."
The term was trending on Twitter for some 12 hours before it was taken down on Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for Twitter told Fox News that an algorithm allowed the term to trend.
"This algorithm identifies topics that are popular now, rather than topics that have been popular for a while or on a daily basis, to help you discover the hottest emerging topics of discussion on Twitter," the spokesperson told Fox News.
GOP SC Sen Scott on Fox: It is stunning that in 2021 those who speak about indiscrimination want to end it with more discrimination...but the left is, they are going to double down and not attack my policies but they are literally attacking the color of my skin.
