Mitch McConnell: Tim Scott Is 'the Future' of the Republican Party
Senate GOP leader praises senator's powerful rebuttal speech

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has hailed Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) as "the future" of the Republican Party.
Sen. McConnell praised Scott's rebuttal address on behalf of Republicans, saying that Americans must listen to his Wednesday night speech if they want to see where the GOP is heading.
Speaking during an appearance on Fox News, McConnell also took a shot at Joe Biden.
The Republican leader accused Biden of pulling a “bait-and-switch” on America, noting that Bernie Sanders must be happy with his agenda since taking office.
"Well, look, we’re looking to the future, not the past,” McConnell said.
"And if you want to see the future of the Republican Party, watch Tim Scott’s response to President Biden last night."

Tim Scott is "the future," McConnell continued.
"That’s where we’re headed.
"We’re not preoccupied with the past, but looking forward.”
"He laid out what the Republican Party today and tomorrow is going to look like,” McConnell added.
"He’s very popular, not only within our party but among Senate Democrats as well.
"He’s brave, courageous, and tells the truth.
"And when you do that these days, a lot of people come after you.
"He’s a courageous leader, the most inspirational leader we have in our party looking forward.”

Scott made waves across the political spectrum with his Wednesday night speech.
The South Carolina senator shredded Joe Biden for "tearing" America "further apart" after promising to "unite" the nation.

As Neon Nettle reported, Scott was delivering the Republican Party’s rebuttal speech to Biden's address to Congress just moments prior.
Biden's speech was loaded with false claims and panned by critics as divisive and extreme.
"We just heard President Biden’s first address to Congress,” Scott began.
"Our president seems like a good man," the senator warned.
"His speech was full of good words."
"But President Biden promised you a specific kind of leadership," Scott continued.
"He promised to unite a nation.
"To lower the temperature.
"To govern for all Americans, no matter how we voted.
"That was the pitch.
"You just heard it again," he noted.
"But our nation is starving for more than empty platitudes.
"We need policies and progress that bring us closer together.”
Scott highlighted how during the first three months of Biden’s presidency, he and the Democrats “are pulling us further apart.”
