Detroit Police Chief Calls for Rashida Tlaib to Resign for 'No More Police' Remark
'I’d love to see her resign, I’d throw her a goodbye party'
Detroit Police Chief James Craig called for far-left Democrat Rashida Tlaib to resign after her “no more police" remarks.
Craig told WJBK on Sunday:
“I’d love to see her resign, I’d throw her a goodbye party."
“Let her go. Who is she speaking for Charlie?"
"Let me just say this, when you talk about abolishing police, incarceration, you talk about safe cities — what do you think the residents in Detroit want?”
Tlaib even received backlash from members within her own party for her tweet saying policing is “inherently and intentionally racist.”
“It wasn’t an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist,” Tlaib tweeted.
“Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence."
"I am done with those who condone government-funded murder.”
“No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed,” she added.

Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder.
No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed.
Craig, who is black, dismissed Tlaib’s tweet as a “disgusting, knee-jerk response.”
Tlaib made the calls in response to the shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
Wright was shot on Sunday afternoon as he attempted to escape from police officers who pulled him over because of expired license plate tags.
Wright had a warrant out for his arrest for a weapons charge and for previously running from police.
Police later revealed that the officer shot Wright "accidentally" as she thought she was using her taser.
