Gingrich: Harris Tapped to Oversee Border Crisis 'Because They Knew She'd Do Nothing'
Former House speaker says Democrats want to flood the US with immigrants

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said the reason why Joe Biden appointed Kamala Harris to oversee the growing border crisis was because "they knew she would do nothing."
"I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this," Biden said of Harris last month.
But Gingrich said the Biden administration aims to flood the country with as many illegal immigrants as possible because they will turn into votes for Democrats.
“If you look at a piece of history, sometimes the obvious is accurate," said Gingrich.
"They wanted Harris to be in charge of the border because they knew she wouldn’t do anything.
“This is not a mistake, this is why they refuse to call it a crisis," he said.

"They want the border to be open," he added.
"Go back and look at the presidential primary debates.
"They are all in favor of open borders.
"They are all in favor of eliminating ICE.
"They are all in favor of eliminating any threat to sanctuary cities."
"So, from their perspective, the next 10 or 15,000 people [coming in] are good because it further increases the number of illegal immigrants in the United States, which is what they want," said Gingrich.
Gingrich warned the Democrats' plans are working.
“What if your goal was to have the maximum number of illegal people in the United States?” he said.
"How would you do better than Biden?"

"That's why they appointed Kamala Harris," said Gingrich.
"Because they knew she would do nothing."
Fox News reported that Harris had not done a press conference since taking on an oversight role on the border crisis.
Last month, Republican Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey slammed Harris, saying she was "the worst possible choice” to manage the growing crisis and the U.S-Mexico border.
Ducey said during a speech at the University of Arizona:
“She’s about the worst possible choice that one could make."
“In no point in her career has she given any indication that she considers the border a problem or a serious threat.”
Harris also faced backlash after laughing when a reporter asked if she planned to visit the southern border.
"Kamala Harris laughs at a reporter who asked her if she has plans to visit the border. Don’t believe this administration when they say they are serious about solving this crisis," Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., wrote on Twitter last month.
