CNN: Biden’s Policies May Prove ‘Popular’ with Republicans

Joe Biden’s policies are actually “popular” among Republican voters, according to certain commentators on CNN.
During a Wednesday night segment, Don Lemon hosted a panel to discuss Biden’s current initiatives on gun control and infrastructure.
Lemon suggested that Biden's focus on getting things done will prove popular with Republicans.
“The president is really tuning out the noise, pushing ahead on guns, infrastructure, speeding up vaccinations while the GOP goes, you know, all in on Trump and the culture wars,” Lemon said to John Avlon, CNN Senior Political Analyst.
"Is this just the way it is now?" Lemon asked.
"Biden is on his own, getting things done and the GOP is talking about things that are irrelevant?"

"I think it is a snapshot of where politics are,” responded Avlon, as reported by Newsbusters.
"Remember, I think this is consistent with the way even Joe Biden campaigned.
"He did not over-index Twitter talk, he focused actually on where the real votes were in the Democratic primary.
"But you have the same symmetric polarization in Congress where you do have the Republican Party disproportionately dominated by folks who are playing to a Fox News crowd, where being a troll is seen as a sign of success rather than getting anything done,” he continued.
"Biden is betting on the fact that a lot of his proposals are popular with Republican voters.
"But he’s still got to get things done by reaching out to people and Republicans in Congress.
"And there is all this talk of bipartisan support, but we haven’t seen any evidence of it.
"So, he’s moving forward alone, there is risk of blowback in that," he said.
"But at least he’s going big and trying to get things done, betting that those actions will help him cobble together a governing majority in the long run.”

The idea that Joe Biden’s policies may actually prove popular with a majority of Americans, including some more “centrist Republicans,” was echoed on “The View” this week when the hosts celebrated a poll from Gallup showing an uptick in those who identify as Democrats.
"This is a direct result of what happened with the, you know, former disgraced, twice impeached one-term president,” co-host Sunny Hostin asserted.
"I’ve said it before that you have a Republican Party that I think is unrecognizable to those that are centrist Republicans, those that are um, just sort of these conservative Republicans that we knew before, right?
"Like the John McCain Republicans, the Republicans I think that Meghan grew up with.
"I’ve been reading John Boehner’s book.
"He says in his book that the crazies have taken over.
"I think the Republican Party is sort of this extremist, anti-scientist, nativist, embracing white supremacist, insurrectionist party at this point,” Hostin concluded.
“I think the average joe is seeing President Joe do things for Americans and they like it!” said co-host Joy Behar.
