Biden Considering Sending Cash to Potential Migrants to Stop Them Heading to America
White House looking into sending tax dollars to Latin America to stop illegal immigration
Democrat Joe Biden's administration is reportedly looking into plans to send taxpayer-funded payouts to potential migrants in Latin America in the hope it will stop them from traveling north to the United States.
The reports emerge as Biden's crisis at the southern border continues to spiral out of control.
The possible cash transfer program would be targeted at people in the Northern Triangle region of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, Roberta Jacobson, the White House’s southern border coordinator, told Reuters in an interview, without saying who exactly would receive the cash.
The administration’s southern border coordinator, Roberta Jacobson, claims, without providing any details, that the money would not be handed out to people.
The White House is also considering sending coronavirus vaccines to the region.
“We’re looking at all of the productive options to address both the economic reasons people may be migrating, as well as the protection and security reasons,” Jacobson said.
“The one thing I can promise you is the U.S. government isn’t going to be handing out money or checks to people.”
The Washington Post reported this week that the explosion in illegal immigration happening on the southern border is so severe that U.S. officials had to change the y-axis on their chart so that it would fully show the level of monthly enforcement data.
“During the busiest month along the Mexico border in nearly two decades, U.S. authorities took 172,331 migrants into custody in March,” the Post reported.
“The total included 18,890 teens and children who arrived without parents, a record quantity that overwhelmed U.S. shelter capacity and produced crisis-level crowding inside government border tents.”

A report by CNN last week said that the U.S. is on track to see 2 million migrants on the southern border this year, which is more than the populations of Wyoming, Vermont, and Alaska — combined.
Border sheriffs have stated that they had the situation under control during the Trump era, while other top former federal law enforcement officials have warned that Biden is providing “extreme incentive” for illegal immigration.
Democrat lawmakers have warned that Biden’s agenda will “be catastrophic for [the Democrat Party]” and “for our country.”
Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan said that the catastrophe on the border did not happen “by accident,” but “by design.”
“This is designed to be this way,” Homan said.
“They’re bringing millions of people into this country who will now be counted on the census because Joe Biden overturned that, which leads to seats in the House [and] Electoral College in elections.
"This is power over public safety; the quest for power over protecting American citizens.”
