Omar Blasts Biden on Continuing Construction of 'Trump's Xenophobic and Racist Wall'
Congresswoman reacts to news Biden's DH could restart wall construction

Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has attacked Joe Biden for considering continuing the construction of Donald Trump's border wall.
“It’s shameful and unacceptable for @POTUS to continue the construction of Trump’s xenophobic and racist wall,” Omar said in a tweet.

The Democratic congresswoman was referencing a story that said Biden's DHS could restart wall construction.

As Neon Nettle reported:
During a conversation with ICE employees last week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that the Biden administration is considering finishing “gaps in the wall.”
"It’s not a single answer to a single question,” Mayorkas said, according to notes of the ICE session reviewed by The Washington Times.
"There are different projects that the chief of the Border Patrol has presented, and the acting commissioner of CBP presented to me."
"The president has communicated quite clearly his decision that the emergency that triggered the devotion of DOD funds to the construction of the border wall is ended," Mayorkas added.
"But that leaves room to make decisions as the administration, as part of the administration, in particular areas of the wall that need renovation, particular projects that need to be finished.”

The Times said that Mayorkas specifically mentioned those “particular projects” included “gaps,” “gates,” and areas “where the wall has been completed, but the technology has not been implemented.”
Earlier this month, Texas state Rep. Bryan Slaton (R-Canton) introduced a bill to complete Trump's border wall construction with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Slaton said that Joe Biden's recent action should not stop the wall's construction along the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas.
“President Trump fought to bring real border security and was opposed by Republicans and Democrats in Congress," Slaton said.
"While hundreds of miles of new wall were built under his leadership, the Biden administration has already ceased border wall construction,” he added.
