Lindsey Graham Calls to ‘Shut Down the Immigration System and Have Timeout’
Republican offers solution to border crisis

Sen. Lindsey Graham has called for the United States to "shut down the immigration system and have a timeout," similar to shutting down travel from China at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
Graham said:
“There was a time that we basically shut down travel into the United States from China and other places."
"I think it’s now to shut down the immigration system and have a timeout," he added.
"What they’ve done by abolishing the remain in Mexico policy…people are released into the interior of the United States."
"Unaccompanied minors are not repatriated back to their home country," Graham said.

"You no longer have to apply for asylum in your home country. You no longer have to wait in Mexico."
"We don’t deport people anymore.”

Last week, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Democrat Joe Biden had "caused the border crisis we are seeing right now" due to his removal of Trump's policies.
The Republican senator said the current crisis is "one example of the extreme partisan failure" of the Biden administration."
"Joe Biden made the strange choice to pivot hard left," he said.

"I think he is captive to AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] and Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders."
Grahams' remarks come just days after U.S. Customs, and Border Protection officals arrested two illegal immigrants from Yemen near Calexico, California.
Both of the men were found to be on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List and No-Fly list.
Neon Nettle reported that Border Patrol had intercepted convicted murderers and child rapists trying to cross the Southern border.
At the San Diego sector of the border, agents intercepted a “35-year-old El Salvadorian national, had been convicted in 2009 for aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 in Virginia.”
