Former Trump HHS Official Files Lawsuit Against Biden for Suspending Migrant Ban
Trump's order was meant to protect public health amid the COVID-19 pandemic
The former chief of staff of the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) for the Trump administration has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for their disastrous open border policies.
Brian Harrison's lawsuit argues that Biden's decision to ax the order known as Title 42 Order violates the administrative Procedure Act.
Trump's order was meant to protect public health amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Administrative Procedure Act requires that policy changes are justified by government agencies.
Biden suspended part of the Title 42 Order when illegal immigrant minors under the age of 18 were allowed into the U.S.
The plaintiffs argue that this was going against other COVID-related travel restrictions and say illegal alien minors should continue to be expelled.
Harrison said in a statement;
"The Biden Administration’s reckless and illegal pursuit of open border policies has created a public health and humanitarian crisis."
"Today, I am standing up for Texas and America by suing to force them to obey the law and secure the border."
The total number of Title 42 expulsions and apprehensions was 381,946 between October and March.
Trump received liberal backlash for policies that separated families at the U.S. border.
The news comes amid new images of the conditions within Biden's shelter that emerged earlier this week.
Biden is also set to spend $86 million of American taxpayer money on hotel rooms for the thousands of migrants.
With over 13,000 unaccompanied minor children immigrants currently in custody, the Biden administration is now scrambling to manage the migrant families.
Axios noted that the “growing numbers of migrant families trying to come to the U.S. — in addition to already overwhelming numbers of kids crossing the border without their parents or legal guardians…appear to be straining government resources."
Trump also warned that Biden's border policies are “destroying our country” and predicted the current crisis would worsen.
“My policies were working better than they’ve ever seen on the southern border."
“The wall was almost complete. We just had to fix little sections, complete little sections that had to be together.”
“But they’re destroying our country,” Trump continued.
“People are coming by the hundreds of thousands. Young children are coming in, and they leave their homes, and they come up because they think it’s going to be so wonderful, and frankly, our country can’t handle it.”
