White House transcripts show Biden did not correct himself after referring to Kamala Harris as 'President Harris'

Joe Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “President Harris” in what seems to be another monumental gaffe during a White House speech on the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re also supplying vaccines to community health centers to reach those who have been the hardest hit,” Biden said.

“The hardest hit and suffered the most — especially black, Latino, Native American, and rural communities."

"This is really important because we believe that speed and efficiency must be matched with fairness and equity.”

“Now when President Harris and I took a virtual tour of a vaccination center in Arizona, not long ago, one of the nurses on that tour injecting people, giving vaccinations, said that each shot was like administering a dose of hope,” he continued.

“A dose of hope. That’s how she phrased it.”

But what is different about this particular gaffe is Biden didn't correct himself (see White House transcript).

But this isn't the first gaffe Biden has made when it comes to getting confused about who the actual president is.

In December, Biden referred to Harris as “president-elect" during his remarks on COVID-19 in Wilmington, Delaware.

"President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason," Biden said at the time.

In September, Harris also seemingly 'slipped up' during a virtual roundtable when she touted economic plans under a "Harris administration."

"A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States," Harris said.

In August, news network CNN predicted that Biden would soon take a back seat.

CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza wrote that Biden could “step aside” for Harris, all but conceding that Biden will not complete his presidential term.

"At 55 years old, [Harris] represents a younger generation of leader — something that Biden, who will be 78 on Inauguration Day 2021, said was a major factor in his choice," he wrote.

"What that all means is that Biden wants the race to be about him as little as possible," Cillizza continued.

"What Biden did is make the pick that maximized his chances of continuing to make the race a straight referendum on Trump while also selecting someone, in Harris, whose resume suggests will be ready to step in if and when Biden decides to step aside."

Earlier this month, Republican Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said he believed Biden is preparing a power transition to Kamala Harris.

Speaking during an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room Pandemic,” Gaetz was asked about a recent Rasmussen poll.

The survey found that 50 percent of Americans are not confident that “Joe Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being president of the United States.”

In response, Gaetz asserted that "it is reasonable to ask if the transition to Harris has already begun.”
