McCarthy Files Resolution to Remove Swalwell From Intel Committee Over China Ties
'Troublesome elements of public reporting'

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has filed a resolution to kick Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell off the Intel Committee due to his connection to an alleged Chinese spy named Fang Fang.
The two-page resolution says Swalwell, D-Calif., "has not denied public reporting that a suspected Chinese intelligence operative helped raise money for Representative Swalwell's political campaigns" and "other troublesome elements of public reporting."

Axios published an apparent exposé about Chinese national Fang Fang, aka Christine Fang earlier, this year.
Fang targeted several aspiring politicians from 2011 to 2015, with a reported focus on California Congressman Swalwell.
Swalwell is one of the House's youngest members and someone who Fang reportedly helped raise funding for.

The resolution also cites the House rule that "A Member... of the House shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House."
Swalwell repeatedly refused to answer questions as to whether his relationship with Fang was romantic or sexual in nature.
Swalwell responded to the resolution in a tweet:
"Meet the New McCarthyism. Multiple sentences in resolution state 'Swalwell has not denied...,'" Swalwell tweeted.
"Yet fails to include multiple FBI statements of 'no wrongdoing' and did nothing but 'cooperate.' All of this to deflect from @GOPLeader’s support for QAnon."

"I'm eager to continue the important work of protecting Americans and supporting the hard-working heroes of our Intelligence Community, and I thank Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Schiff for their support and confidence," Swalwell said.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reappointed Swalwell to return to the Homeland Security Committee earlier this year, despite his ties to a Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
House Republicans have been calling for a full investigation into Democrat Swalwell ever since.
It also emerged that a separate Chinese Communist Party employee made several large donations to Swalwell's congressional campaigns, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records revealed.
