Arizona Sheriff: Biden Border Crisis Like 'Wild West,' Worse than Obama Years
Crisis at border gets worse as surge expected to hit 20 year high
An Arizona sheriff said the border crisis under Joe Biden is worse than the Obama years as the migrant surge is expected to hit a 20-year high.
Pinal Country Sheriff Mark Lamb said it was "ridiculous" that illegal immigrants are able to enter the country while schools and businesses remain closed.
"[During the Obama administration] it was like the Wild West out there in the desert on the south end of our county, and we’re back to that again," Lamb said.
"Almost every time we go out, we’re finding 20 people."
"Last Wednesday, we had 49 apprehensions in my county."
"So this is just as bad as it was back in the Obama days, probably worse and on target to be worse."
Lamb accused Biden officials of playing the "blame game," targeting former President Trump’s border policies as the reason for the recent surge.
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed climate change and Donald Trump's border policies for the crisis.
“There are more children, about 600, 700 more children, unaccompanied children coming over the border."
"This is a humanitarian challenge to all of us," she added.
"What the administration has inherited is a broken system at the border, and they are working to correct that in the children’s interest."
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also suggested that Trump was blamed for the current Joe Biden-policy-inspired crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
"We are trying to work through what was a dismantled and unprepared system because of the role of the last administration,” Psaki said.
Biden himself even requested that thousands of illegal migrants currently flooding the U.S.-Mexico border "don't come over."
Migrants who are flooding the border claimed Biden "encouraged" them to attempt to make illegal crossings into the US.
One woman, Gladys Oneida Pérez Cruz, told The New York Times that she traveled with her son to the border because of Biden's pro-migrant promises.
“Biden promised us that everything was going to change,” she told the Times.
