North Korea has sent a veiled threat to Joe Biden not to “cause a stink” as he reassesses the U.S. stance toward Pyongyang.

The message came in a statement to the Korean Central News Agency by Kim Yo-jong, sister of dictator Kim Jong-un.

“We take this opportunity to warn the new U.S. administration trying hard to give off powder smell in our land,” she said, referencing the joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises.

“If it wants to sleep in peace for [the] coming four years, it had better refrain from causing a stink at its first step,” Ms. Kim said.

Her remarks come not long after White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki accused North Korea of stiffing the new Biden administration.

“Diplomacy is always our goal," Psaki said.

"Our goal is to reduce the risk of escalation."

"But, to date, we have not received any response,” she said.

The White House press secretary added Biden's outreach “follows over a year without active dialogue with North Korea, despite multiple attempts by the U.S. to engage.”

This isn't the first there has been friction between North Korea and Biden.

In 2019, North Korea called Biden a "rabid dog" who "must be put to death."

The North Korean state-controlled media released a statement suggesting he "must be beaten to death with a stick."

The KCNA news agency, the state's mouthpiece for Kim Jong-Un's regime, said Biden exhibiting signs of "the final stage of dementia."

He added the "time has come for him to depart his life."

"Such a guy had the temerity to dare slander the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK," the commentary reads, using the North's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"It was the last-ditch efforts of the rabid dog expediting his death," KCNA said.
