Michelle Obama ‘Not Surprised’ by Meghan Markle's Royal ‘Racism’ Claims
Former first lady backs Duchess of Sussex's allegations

Former Frist Lady Michelle Obama backed Meghan Markle's claims of "racism" within the British Royal Family, saying it was “not a complete surprise."
Markle claimed that a Royal Family member asked about the possible darkness of her son’s skin.
The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, accused an unidentified royal of being racist about their son Archie.
Markle’s interview made waves last week, though she failed to identify many specifics.
Michelle Obama said:
“I could never understand how it wouldn’t be seen as an added benefit and a reflection of the world today, especially right now, to go how inclusive is that that you can see someone who looks like you in this family, much less someone who was born into it."

The former first lady told NBC News:
“I feel like that was heartbreaking to hear, that she felt like she was in her own family — her own family thought differently of her.”
“As I said before, race isn’t a new construct in this world for people of colour, and so it wasn’t a complete surprise to hear her feelings and to have them articulated,” she said.
“I think the thing that I hope for, and the thing I think about, is that this, first and foremost, is a family,” Obama added.
“I pray for forgiveness and healing for them so that they can use this as a teachable moment for us all.”

Michelle Obama once described Meghan as “a thoughtful leader who is breaking the mold and making our world better for it.”
Earlier today, Neon Nettle reported that an old blog authored by Markle reemerged that "debunks" claims in the Oprah Winfrey interview.
Meghan wrote the blog in 2014 - two years before she met Prince Harry.
During the interview with Oprah, Markle claimed she had never considered what life as a royal might be like, but her old musings prove that was not at all the case.
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,’’ wrote the now-Duchess of Sussex in 2014, while commenting on the “pomp” surrounding Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding three years earlier, according to the Sun on Sunday.
“For those of you unfamiliar with the ‘80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength,” Markle said in her since-nixed blog.
“We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,” said Markle, who married Prince Harry, William’s brother, in May 2018.
“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,” Markle mused.
