Chinese Communist Party Official Caught Following X-Rated Gay Account on Twitter
Zhao Lijian faces embarrassment after discovery
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian's Twitter has been caught following an explicit homosexual porn account on Twitter, according to reports.
The Communist Party’s top spokesman’s account was following an account entitled “qornograficx," which posted graphic videos and pictures of extreme sexual content.
Homosexuality still remains a taboo in China despite being decriminalized in 1997 and being removed from being mental illnesses in 2001.
The Chinese Communist Party has embarked on a campaign of repression against LGBT people in the country.
There have also been reports of forced “conversion therapy,” including electro-shock torture against gay people.
Additionally, homosexuality is censored from the internet and films in China.
The Communist Party has also banned pornography as a whole nationwide.
Meanwhile, access to websites such as Twitter is also blocked under the regime, despite many Chinese officials and state media propaganda using it.
Zhao Lijian was one of the first CCP officals to sign up for Twitter in 2010.
But Lijian used the platform to attack the United States.
Last year, Lijian falsely claimed the coronavirus was brought to China by members of the U.S military.
Lijian wrote on Twitter:
“When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!”
Lijian also posted links to other propaganda that also falsely claimed that the coronavirus originated in the U.S.
Unsurprisingly, he did not get censored by Twitter for the false claims.
He also drew criticism for sharing a falsified image depicting an Australian soldier holding a knife to the throat of an Afghan child, with the caption:
“Don’t be afraid. We are coming to bring you peace!”
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison reacted angrily to the post:
“It is utterly outrageous and it cannot be justified on any basis whatsoever. The Chinese government should be totally ashamed of this post. It diminishes them in the world’s eyes.”
