Trump Hints 'Political Future' As Democrats Suffer 2nd Failed Impeachment Attempt
The trial to impeach the former president ended after the Senate vote failed 57-43

Donald Trump celebrated his second Democrat-led impeachment acquittal on Saturday as his Senate trial concluded.
Trump blasted Congressional Democrats for pursuing the ongoing “witch hunt” after 75 million Americans voted for his re-election.
Trump wrote:
“This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our country."
“No president has ever gone through anything like it.”
The trial to impeach the former president ended after the Senate vote failed 57-43.

Though the vote failed to meet the two-thirds majority threshold, seven Republicans did, however, voted to find Trump guilty.
If he wishes, Trump can now run again for president, meaning the Democrat's push to prevent such a move is now out of the equation.
Trump also signaled a future in politics.
“Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun,” he wrote.
“In the months ahead, I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people.”
Trump also noted that it was a “sad commentary” that Democrats had been given free rein to defame law enforcement, excuse violence throughout the summer during the Black Lives Matter protests, cheer on violent mobs and riot while trying to “persecute, blacklist, cancel, and suppress” him and his supporters.

Trump also thanked members of Congress and citizens who supported him while shaming Democrats for pursuing the trial.
“I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times,” he said.
Lead impeachment manager Jamie Raskin issued a brief statement on Twitter following Trump's acquittal:
"On the most bipartisan presidential impeachment vote in the history of the country, a powerful majority of both houses of Congress found that the former President incited violent insurrection against the Union & the Congress."
"History will record his terrible constitutional crime.”
He added:
“My profound thanks to the American people for engaging so passionately with this crucial process & to our remarkable House impeachment managers & staff for their solemn work."
