Biden was heading to Delaware to spend time with his family, according to reports.

It marks the first departure for Biden since he took office.
The news comes as the CDC recommends Americans avoid air travel amid the second wave of COVID-19.
The CDC travel alert last updated February 2 reads:
“Travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. CDC recommends that you do not travel at this time. Delay travel and stay home to protect yourself and others from COVID-19."
Jen Psaki defended Biden after critics said he is bucking CDC recommendations.

Psaki told reporters that the “key” is “ensuring that people don’t take steps to make others vulnerable.”
“Delaware is his home, and he looks forward to spending the weekend there and some time with his family,” Psaki said of his planned trip.
Biden's travel comes as Americans are urged to wear masks and not travel.
Cher, who repeatedly complained about Donald Trump on Twitter, has backed Biden but has remained silent on his crippling series of executive orders.
#Cher expressed concern that there are currently no Democratic presidential candidates that are able to beat President #DonaldTrump admitting the inevitability of him winning a second term in office.
