Congressman Quotes Pelosi's Incendiary Rhetoric While Addressing Trump's Impeachment
'I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country'

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) addressed President Donald Trump's impeachment over claims he incited violent insurrection during his speech at a D.C. rally last week.
The congressman reminded his congressional colleagues of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's incendiary rhetoric over the past 4 years.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) quoted Pelosi as saying:
“I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country.
"Maybe, there will be."
Pelosi's comment came on June 14, 2018, while she addressed the plight of illegal alien families separated at the border.

The House speaker suggested that uprisings might be the only solution to the Trump Administration’s “policy”:
“I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country," Pelosi said at the time.
"Maybe, there will be, when people realize that this is a policy that they defend."
"It’s a horrible thing."
”And, I don’t see any prospect for legislation here. What do we do here? We do nothing."
"We do nothing.”

Gohmert cited Pelosi's comments about “enemies of the Constitution” in Congress and “enemies of the State:”
“Now, on our side, we didn’t take those to be impeachable because we didn’t believe she surely meant that," he said.

"But, by the Democrats taking this action, you’re telling me, ‘No, when we say those things, we actually mean to incite violence.’"
"That’s what this action is saying.”
Gohmert warned of politically-motivated impeachment:
“Now, the message is: if you have a whim and you want to just go after a president, just go straight to the floor – no investigation, no Judiciary Committee."
"Go straight to the floor. Use it as a political weapon, as you wish. This is so dangerous what you’re doing.”
Pelosi was featured at the beginning and end of a viral video compilation as she refers to Republicans and the White House as “domestic enemies” and “enemies of the state."
