ABC’s “The View” co-host Meghan McCain insisted that the Capitol Hill rioters were “domestic terrorists," adding they should be sent to the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba detention camp.

McCain said:

“I just think we need to treat the domestic terrorists the way we do actual terrorists."

"I think we need to consider all the possibilities," she added.

"I’m not against sending these people to Gitmo, That may sound extreme," McCain said.

"These are domestic terrorists who attacked our own republic."

"They should be treated the same way we treat Al-Qaeda.”

McCain's remarks come after the FBI published a list of suspects sought in connection with the riots at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday.

The agency released a batch of images of people dubbed the “MAGA Most Wanted” list as law enforcement seeks to track down the agitators of the violence.

However, the Department of Justice released a statement indicating that President Donald Trump could be added to the list for his alleged "role" in the events.

Federal prosecutors announced that President Trump could potentially face charges over the violent siege of the Capitol.

Acting US attorney for DC Michael Sherwin on Thursday said: "all options are on the table."

"We are looking at all actors here," Sherwin said during a press conference on the mayhem.

Before events deteriorated at the Capitol on Wednesday evening, Trump tweeted out a statement urging his supports to "Go home with love & peace."
