Sacha Baron Cohen: Trump Ban Is the ‘Most Important Moment' in Social Media History
Anti-Trump actor celebrates president being banned from Facebook and Twitter

British actor Sacha Baron Cohen said that the recent ban of President Donald Trump's personal Twitter and Facebook accounts is “the most important moment in the history of social media."
The Hollywood pro-censorship activist claimed that “the whole world” is thanking Big Tech for platforming Trump, forgetting the president had 75 million Americans vote for him in the 2020 election.
Twitter announced it had permanently banned Trump from its platform on Friday, claiming he violated its “Glorification of Violence” rules.
But neither of Trump's tweets promoted violence or even referenced violence in any way.
Twitter fell back on its blanket terminology and claimed that Trump's tweets could possibly lead to violence.

Twitter Saftey tweeted:
"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence."

Trump was also banned from Facebook and Instagram.
Sacha Baron Cohen praised the decision in a tweet:
“This is the most important moment in the history of social media,” he wrote.
“The world’s largest platforms have banned the world’s biggest purveyor of lies, conspiracies, and hate.”
“To every Facebook and Twitter employee, user and advocate who fought for this — the entire world thanks you!”

Last year, Cohen called for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to be removed from the company claiming he was giving a voice to 'Nazi' conservatives and President Trump.

Meanwhile, politicians like Hillary Clinton and Hollywood celebrated Trump's removal.
Hollywood also rejoiced in Trump's Twitter ban, including actor George Clooney who said that Trump and his family name would go “into the dustbin of history.”
“This puts Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, all of them, into the dustbin of history."
