Chinese Communist Party Orders Troops to Prepare for War ‘at Any Second’
President Xi Jinping's orders come as tensions between the US and China remain high

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping has ordered the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to maintain “full-time combat readiness" and be prepared to go to war “at any second," according to reports.
The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on Jinping's orders come as tensions between the US and China remain high.
Xi had tightened his personal control of the PLA and appointed loyal CCP officers to clean out suspect personnel under the camouflage of an anti-corruption campaign.
The orders were described by state-run media outlets as part of an effort to tighten the Communist Party' control and prepare for future conflicts:
Upholding the Party’s absolute leadership over the armed forces and focusing on combat capabilities, the regulations stipulated the guiding principles, leadership, responsibilities, and structures of the committees in detail. At the same time, it sets requirements for its members.
The regulations will enhance the role of Party organizations in the armed forces and help with the Party’s goal of strengthening the military in the new era and building world-class armed forces.

The news comes as China made moves to build its military capabilities amid territorial conflicts which prompted military encounters.
One such spat was its border dispute with India.
The PLA suffered a humiliating defeat against the Indian military after Chinese troops built a Himalayan encampment on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The Chinese troops were eventually driven off a cliff and inflicting twice the casualties on the PLA as they themselves sustained.
New Delhi was able to solidify its grip on the area following the defeat of the Chinese.

Closer to home
Late last year, Neon Nettle reported that the Canadian Armed Forces planned military exercises with the Chinese People's Liberation Army, including "winter survival training" at Ontario military base bordering the United States.
But the plans were canceled by Canada's chief of defense staff, which in turn received pushback from the country's Global Affairs department.
The GAD voiced concerns that the cancellation would damage relations between Ottawa and Beijing.
The founder of Rebel News, Ezra Levant, tweeted at the time:
"Trudeau invited Chinese troops to learn winter warfare tactics at the Canadian Forces Base [Garrison Petawawa]."
The biggest scoop I’ve ever had in my life. Trudeau invited Chinese troops to learn winter warfare tactics at the Canadian Forces Base @GarrisonPet. 34 unredacted pages of cowardice and appeasement towards China, hostility towards America. https://t.co/rApCpYPh5E
