Kamala Harris Uses Sandy Hook Remembrance to Push Gun Control
Measures are needed 'to keep our children safe,' senator claims

Kamal Harris pushed gun control while remembering the Sandy Hook Elementary School attack, urging that such measures are needed to "keep our children safe."
Harris tweeted Monday:
"Today marks 8 years since 20 first-graders and 6 educators were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
"To honor the lives lost in this terrible tragedy, it’s past time we implement common-sense gun safety reforms to keep our children safe."

Biden is pushing the “common-sense gun safety” which includes a ban on the sale of firearms that Democrats label “assault weapons."

It also includes a ban on “high capacity” magazines, and universal background checks.
Democrats like Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) have been perusing such controls for years, which have already been in place in New York since 2013.
But despite the bans and background check requirements, shootings are poised to break a 14-year high in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) NYC.
When the horrific Sandy Hook shooting took place, teachers and staff were unarmed with no armed resource officers on campus.
The attacker had over nine minutes inside the school without armed resistance, the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission concluded.

Adam Lanza killed 27 people, including 20 elementary school students.
Lanza killed 20 students and six staff at the school. He had earlier shot his mother dead. As police closed in on the school, he killed himself.

But Harris said in 2019 that teachers should not be armed with guns and instead get a pay raise.
The Biden administration also pledges to “prohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms.”
The Biden campaign page says:
“We should be passing rational gun laws, not requiring educators who already have too much on their plates to also protect the safety of their students.”
