House Speaker Nancy Pelosi celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the Texas lawsuit while condemning the 126 Republicans who “brought dishonor” for backing President Donald Trump.

Texas’s Supreme Court case against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin was rejected on Friday.

As NewsThud reported, the Supreme Court ruled “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections.”

It ruled all other claims as moot.

The lawsuit was filed by Texas AG Ken Paxton.

The suit was supported by the attorneys general of 17 other states as well as over 100 Republicans in Congress.

Pelosi praised the SCOTUS decision while blasting Republicans who signaled support for the lawsuit.

Pelosi said in a Friday statement:

“The Court has rightly dismissed out of hand the extreme, unlawful and undemocratic GOP lawsuit to overturn the will of millions of American voters."

“The 126 Republican Members that signed onto this lawsuit brought dishonor to the House,” she continued.

“Instead of upholding their oath to support and defend the Constitution, they chose to subvert the Constitution and undermine public trust in our sacred democratic institutions.”

Pelosi called for lawmakers to focus on crushing the coronavirus and “end their election subversion – immediately.”

The Hill reported that Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) asked Pelosi to refuse to seat members of the next Congress who supported President Trump’s effort to overturn the election.

Pascrell said in a statement posted to Twitter:

“Stated simply, the men and women who would act to tear the United States Government apart cannot serve as Members of the Congress."

“These lawsuits seeking to obliterate public confidence in our democratic system by invalidating the clear results of the 2020 presidential election undoubtedly attack the text and the spirit of the Constitution, which each Member swears to support and defend."

Trump later tweeted he is the winner of the presidential election when only legal votes are counted, and he encouraged Georgians and Arizonians to vote Gov. Brian Kemp (GA) and Gov. Doug Ducey (AZ), both Republicans, out of office:
